Augmented reality Escape Room game

As part of the largest project related to the construction of the Centre for Comics and Interactive Narrative at the EC1 Łódź scientific complex, we developed an Escape Room game using augmented reality technology. The game is available as a special attraction in the VR/AR Zone and can be played by as many as 4 players at the same time in one session.

The plot of the game, referring to the building of the former EC1 power plant, is anchored in Łódź in the 19th century – in the middle of the industrial era. In the game, the players help the main hero (Joachim Salomon Lux-Meier) solve riddles and win against the enemy, who is throwing numerous obstacles at him.

The game is run on 2 sets of tablets so that they can be interchangeably charged. Each of the sets is composed of 4 of the latest Apple iPads. Thanks to using an advanced ARKit engine and our specially developed image processing algorithms, the players can enjoy an incredible interactive experience that they will remember for months to come.

What makes the game even more attractive are also exhibition elements, such as numerous markers recognised by devices, lights controlled by DMX or large-format screens where 2D animations, offering a short break in the plot, are displayed for the players.
